In this article, we review new studies that have contributed to our understanding of these relationships and outline potential avenues of inquiry to support the development of personality-trait research in exercise and sport.   The study begins with the definition of personality along with the traits associated with personality. Overall, the discussion focuses on how personality traits impact the employee work performance. Further, the personality trait theories are discussed and the suitable theory for this study selected and illuminated in detail.

Early theories assumed that personality was expressed in people’s physical appearance. One early approach, developed by the German physician Franz Joseph Gall (–) and known as phrenology, was based on the idea that we could measure personality by assessing the patterns of bumps on people’s skulls (Figure “Phrenology”).In the Victorian age, phrenology was taken . effectiveness than leader traits, but results indicate that an integrative model where leader behaviors mediate the relationship between leader traits and effectiveness is warranted.
